    Default HTML Code

Jon, if HTML code was allowed, I think it would be pretty useful. I understand why you have it turned off though. With vBulletin, is it an all or nothing thing, or can you decide which HTML code to allow and which to prohibit? Can vBulletin be set to block anything that links to adult content within the code, for example, so it is not abused if you decide to turn it on?

I'd be happy to look into it -- but you're right we have to be careful. What tags are you looking for?

Just simple stuff for expanded formatting like <br> or <p> to add spaces in between list items. Everything else I can think of is pretty much available via the provided composition buttons. It's just an idea I had though. If the risks outweigh the benefits, then by all means leave things as they are. I'd hate to risk hurting the company because someone abused these privileges.

I don't know if these would pose any risk, Jon, but how about ordered and unordered list tags; <ol> and <ul>? These would be very handy for folks who want to list several related questions, a procedure they've used, and/or machine specs.

Thanks for a great site and forum!

You can make lists with the BB Code like so:

    1. item 1
    2. item 2
    3. item 3
    4. item 4

However, without those aforementioned HTML tags, it is not possible to put spaces in between each item to make it a little more legible. Notice how everything is kind of scrunched together?

    Oh and thank you, Jon!

OK, I added a bbcode for line break too!

    Test.

It is a little funny looking, but functional.
