You mean this one?

Yep, it should be OK for overclocking....it's aluminum and has good ventilation. Sorry, FarCry is a promotion they must be doing themselves, there is no AMD promotion like that.

Here's a quote from our FAQ page:

Q: Do you have any sales or special pricing?

A: We have a very clear policy on our pricing -- our prices are based on our costs, and nothing else. There are many companies out there that know they can get away with charging $5 more for parts here and there, and then price other parts more competitively. We do not do that. That's why we do not have specials, sales, promotional pricing, or anything of the sort. It has always been our goal to make the entire process as simple and clean as possible so you know exactly what you're paying for.

As if having an aluminum case will help you overclock ;-)

You idiot its not a main factor but it will help in temps, give a 5c decrease or so...As any veteran overclocker knows. Aluminum has good ventilation, and it sucks in hot air and realeses it... :thumbs

Can you say owned?.... :)

Ouch. What about that guy?

I've always liked this bumper sticker:

No, you suck!

Haha, shows what you know. The material of the case has no impact on the inside temps, only the ventilation does.

b00n. Can you say owned?

I’d be fairly skeptical about this claim until it can be proven. True, the conductivity of aluminum is 150,000 W/mK and that of soft steel is only 46,000 W/mK. We’ll ignore the conductivity of the buff coating on the steel case. The design of a case is not conducive to meaningful heat transfer through the sides of the case. In order to act like a heatsink, it should be designed like a heatsink and connected to the source of heat by a thermally conductive conduit. Absolutely no one designs a heatsink with several inches of air (0.026 W/mK) between the heat source and the heatsink material. People do design insulating beer coolers this way though. If the idea is that the aluminum is going to allow cooling of the air as it zips through the case on it’s way out through the exhaust fan I’d have trouble believing that would do much good. Nothing is done to maximize exposure of the air to the cooler aluminum and the supposedly newly cooled air isn't recirculated to cool hot components in the case.

After reading all the stuff the 7volts guy wrote, I'm inclined to believe anything he says over anything you say. True, the site hasn't been updated in a while, but neither have the laws of physics.

I bet you think aluminum heatsinks dissapate heat faster than copper ones too. Hah.

Here's a little something (http://www.bit-tech.net/column/11/) for you to think about.

And don't think you're a verteran overclocker. You're not even building your own computer. And you can't be a veteran of anything because you're not old enough.
And who OCs a retail PC? That's like buying an Alienware computer then thinking your cool. You're not. You only get laughed at at LAN parties.

Mattrix, did you just post 4 times in a row?

Anyway, I'm not sure if there is flaming going on here, but don't make me get out the spray bottle... :shock

No flaming going on here. Just kept finding more evidance against his little theory.
