Vista is Microsoft's latest attempt to "prove" that they have the same basic features as Linux. Like all previous attempts, it appears to be failing miserably (thanks in no small part to requiring cutting-edge hardware). This is what Vista (specifically Aero) is trying to rip off (and doing a terrible job of it): http://www.enlightenment.org/ e17 has been in development since 2000, is a lot better looking than Aero (IMHO), and it runs at full features flawlessly on my 450 MHz P3.
I'm sorry, but Vista just gets a great big :thumbsdown from me.
