A lot of people out there need antivirus and office software, but don't specifically need full Norton Antivirus or the MS Office suite. For those people, we just added a number of FREE software packages to our configure pages.

AVG Antivirus
Norton 2005 w/ Google Pack
OpenOffice.org Suite

This should be a great alternative for budget-minded people who don't specifically need MS Office, or who need an anti-virus solution but don't want to pay for full blown Norton Antivirus.

Adobe Reader 7

Optional Components:

Trillian

Simply tell your rep if you would like any optional components included.

OpenOfficeOrg is a great free office suite. I myself use it, and it can save to all Microsoft document types and looks just like them. I believe it can even output to PDF!

Yeah. I've been using Fedora Core 5 for about a week now, and have come to fall in love with the open source stuff. Open Office is most impressive.

On that note, if anyone out there wants us to ship a computer with Fedora Core 5 installed, we're happy to do that for free upon request. No tech support, as you'd probably expect. We're a little reluctant to post that as an option on our configure pages until we see how many requests for tech support we get on the other free software...if they don't turn out to be a problem for us, then we look forward to putting Linux on our configure pages!
