Hi all! ;-)
New to forum. I did email this site/store for their opion. I had my gaming computer built in another town by a local store. It has 5 partitions. Don't ask why.
Warrantee is up! I don't want to drive back there anyway as it's a long drive. I just moved back to Seattle to complete radiation and am staying here.
It's time that this computer needs to be cleaned of duplicate programs, applications in the various partiions and a reinstall of the OS.
Two viruses are in "jail," also.
Now, I wasn't told how to link programs I had installed in my drive labeled Applications back to the Windows drive when an OS reinstall was done. So I'd just reinstall the program! Get off the floor from laughter.
I have perhaps 3 copies of PowerDVD on my system...as an example.
I need recommendations of a good repair shop that will reinstall the OS, look for conflicting hardware problems, as this research might not have been thorough enough, but probably was, and general cleaning of duplicate applications, driver updates, etc.
I can reinstall an OEM but not a computer built for me. Yep, I have all the disks, boot disketts, etc.
I am lousy at reinstalling drivers, dealing with cabs, etc. So I really need the names of a good shop in the northend of Seattle and loves a challenge, particularly an employee who is addicted to this sort of thing but never, ever afraid to ask someone else when they don't know the answer to a question regarding something they do not know.
Also, what would be an "average price" for such?
Also, warnings about bad shops would be nice.
I think PM'ing is the way to go as to name repair shops which are recommended or those to avoid in this forum wouldn't be appropriate unless you all know better!
Mods, feel free to move, delete or edit this post as it might not be appropriate.
Yep! I did search for a general repair discussion regarding computer repairs in Seattle but found none. So I am here..."
I looked for reviews of repair shops. I used Yahoo.
I looked at Cnet for repair shop reviews and found nothing.
I'd prefer not to ship my computer nor drive too far from the
Northgate area. Even Alderwood can be one huge hassle, as we all know!
Thanks for your time.
I pre-appologize if this is totally inappropriate!
But what would you do?
Also, where to buy a re-furbished wonderful LCD 17" or larger monitor that's gaming appropriate, although I know all believe in CRT's.
What's your favorite that's not too pricey?
GMT...I never get that right and I'm too tired to fix the time correctly.
