Anybody know what the heck Valve is talking about when they say in the sys requirments for Half Life 2 that your CD/DVD drive for the retail game has to be compatible with Sony SecuROM?

SecuROM is a copy-protect feature for CDs and DVDs that helps the system ensure that the disk in the drive is the original. It's simple, mostly software-side, and according to the SecuROM website, "SecuROM™ is compatible with over 99.9 % of the CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives on the market". I think it'd be pretty safe to assume that the drives we carry are compatible. (Of course, if you buy the game from us, we'd verify that it works.)
